Culture of RecoveryStetson School provides a program of treatment and rehabilitation, built upon principles that guide a “culture of recovery.”
The culture of recovery at Stetson School embodies a treatment environment in which our students are enabled to “recover” from the effects of earlier damaging life experiences. In this “culture of recovery,” our goals are to bring about change in the way in which our students feel and think about themselves, others, and the world around them, and how they behave in response to circumstances, situations, and social interactions. |
We help youth develop a stronger sense of self-confidence, confidence in others, and a confident sense of social belonging and relatedness.

ACORN® Treatment & RehabilitationOur ACORN ® Treatment & Rehabilitation model reflects the philosophy of Stetson School and its approach to treatment and rehabilitation and recognizes the impact of the social environment on child and adolescent development and is aimed at multiple goals that connect the child or adolescent to the larger social community, including attachment, competency in social skills, the resolution of trauma and other developmental injuries, and self-regulation.
In operation, ACORN is aimed at changing behavior and relationships by rehabilitating ideas, attitudes, and beliefs about the world, and through the development of a stronger sense of self-confidence, confidence in others, and a confident sense of social belonging and relatedness. |
40-Week Core FoundationStetson School employs a 40 week core foundation program for all students admitted. This program provides a structured program that teaches students, and provides them with important ideas, insights, and behaviors related to the development and elimination of abusive and troubled behavior.
The core foundation program focuses upon the completion of concrete elements of treatment, each of which serve as the building blocks for treatment to be continued beyond the foundation period in the least restrictive and most appropriate treatment setting. |
