Behavior Program

Stetson’s Behavioral Disorder Treatment track provides assessment and treatment for adolescent males aged 13-18 upon admission.

All youth admitted are engaged in our 40-Week Core Foundation Program.  The core foundation program focuses upon the completion of concrete elements of treatment, each of which serves as the building blocks for treatment to be continued beyond the foundation period in the least restrictive and most appropriate treatment setting.
Behavioral regulation, relationship development, social skills, self-care, recreational abilities, and problem solving are important to recognize and treat in eliminating conduct disordered and troubled behavior.

Milieu treatment is provided through daily routines and interactions, staff advocate relationships, skill groups, and therapeutic recreation groups. Stetson maintains a staff to student ratio of one staff for three youth.
We provide constant supervision, monitor conversations between students are to avoid bullying or harassment, and also prevent alliances built around antisocial interactions such as dialogue supporting or promoting gang affiliation, violence, substance abuse, and other negative behaviors.
